Flesher Family Marathon Christmas

We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Matt and I were very blessed this Christmas to see all of our family.....we are so glad that Christmas is a season and we could celebrate with all of our loved ones. Matt and I are so thankful for the gift of Christ and it was so special to spend our 1st Christmas reading the Christmas story together and sharing stockings with each other......it will be a lasting memory and hopefully a tradition we can continue. Here are a bunch of pictures from our different Christmas family get togethers. Matt's extended family Christmas. His uncles and cousins are on the ends and then his mom is in green. Scott and Shannon (Matt's bro) were in town the day before....there are pics of them below.

Scott, Shannon, Matt and I had a blast putting together a puzzle all afternoon after opening presents. I had no idea I had to FINISH a puzzle before getting up....yall I sat there for 2-3 hours working on that thing with not many breaks.....great memories made. Just FYI Matt needs a lot of breaks during puzzling.....don't know if that is a word.

Matt standing by the presents before we opened them. There was not a tree at his Mom's house this year since there was not anyone at her house on Christmas day.....so we put the presents around the chair:)

Umm....ok you are thinking what in the world is that!!! Well Scott thought it would be yummy to bring a Emu egg from Austin to include in our Christmas brunch.......umm it was the biggest yolk I have EVER seen and I was scared to eat it. It looked to big and like it had a chick inside so I was grossed out. The boys enjoyed the egg and said that it did not taste any different.

Here is me in Midland helping my Aunt Nancy and my Mom to make Chirstmas dinner. Nana said that she was training me to make Chirstmas dinner someday.

Matt and I on Christmas day right before opening presents in Midland.

Family photo in Midland. My Aunt Nancy and Uncle Mark are in the back with cousins Scott and Bryan. My Nana and Pappy are on the far left and that is my Mom right next to me.

More cooking....it seemed like it took all day to make the meal.

Here is pics from Christmas at my Mom's house before we left for Midland. My sister and baby Gray came in to town the weekend before Chirstmas so that we could celebrate with them as well. Baby Gray is growing so fast and is the cutest thing. She is now laughing and smiling so she is so much fun. Aunt "Jo" is my name.... and Uncle Matt wants to keep her he loves her so much.....I told him we can get our own someday.

Ok....here is me with my most favorite gift....a Kitchen Aid mixer!!! I was so excited and surprised. I am on my way to becoming the next Paula Deen yall!

Here is Nana with sweet Gray.......I just love the face she is making.

Here are two pictures of Chirstmas at my Dad and B's. We spent some time with them before we went to Midland. Matt and I love Christmas stockings with my Dad.....it is really neat. My Dad & B love creating oversized stockings that are filled with EVERYTHING you can imagine. Matt and I spent about 20 mins. digging through all of the goodies.

And you thought Santa flew a sleigh........

....so we thought but this Christmas Santa Matt got the opportunity to fly my Uncles Mark's plane in Midland.....so if your presents are a little late it is because this was Santa Matt's first time behind the Piper Comanche of my Uncle Mark's 4 seater airplane. Matt went with my cousins Scott and Bryan and my Uncle Mark to a hanger in Midland to fly my Uncles plane on Christmas Eve.

Here is Matt in the hanger helping to get things ready for the trip up in the sky:) Don't you love how he matches the plane from head to toe...yes I dressed him for this event.....totally kidding!!!

This is a shot from the cockpit when they first took off. They flew at 5000 feet around Odessa and Midland.

Houston....Houston we have a problem. Here is Matt looking so studly with his flight headgear on. Matt did the pre-flight checklist with mission control on the ground. I think he thought he was Maverick in Top Gun.

My cousin Bryan took this picture from the back seat of the plane looking out the front window. That is Matt on the right actually flying the plane. If you notice out the front window thank God the horizon is where it should be.

Here is the beautiful Midland, Texas out the right cockpit window. Matt had an isle seat so he was in charge of the emergency exit if one was needed during the flight:) What a fun day the boys had and what a great opportunity for Matt. We really enjoyed this beautiful Christmas Eve.

Flesher / Griswald's Hang Christmas Lights

Well it is the 1st Griswald/Flesher Chirstmas!!! Look at this handsome/bank robber looking husband:) Matt and I got a notice on our door last week that our apartment complex is having a contest for the best decorated porch.....well if you know my husband then you know competition.......so as you can tell from the pics he has already started the decorating.....I think I have married a Griswald:) This man had out the hammer, ladder, drill and one big Christmas spirit.

Matt right after he hung the stars.....poor thing was outside for hours as he had to drill holes to hang the stars from the ceiling. It looks much better at night.

Ohh almost done!!! We did not have to buy any of these lovely items....we figure that the prize is $200.00 so we did not want to spend money to get money......all of these items were kindly donated from our lovely mothers Susan and Babs:) The voting is Dec. 23rd....we will keep you posted if we win!

Thanksgiving in Houston!

Ahh.....our first Thanksgiving as a married couple. Matt and I are so thankful for so many things and family is definitely one of them. We enjoy married life so much and we are having a ball. We are thankful that we still have grandparents that are living and that we can enjoy. We are thankful for the relationship that we share with each other and with our Lord. We traveled to Houston this past week to celebrate Thanksgiving. We stayed at my aunt Diana and Joe's house and it was wonderful. Everyone was there and it was a lot of fun. I think Matt thought he was in heaven......he got to watch the Cowboy's play on a "65 inch DLP big screen TV. He did not take his eyes off the screen as the Cowboys celebrated another victory this year!! I think Matt would like to live with the TV but I told him he had to come home:)

Mom and I on Thanksgiving day......she brought her homemade rolls which were so yummy!

Look at this sweet helper helping to light all the candles in the house....I must
say he did a fine job and Aunt Diana gave him an A++

Look at this precious....I love my baby Gray so much! I think I could kiss her little cheeks all day. She is growing so fast and is getting cuter by the day. Matt and I have fun playing with her and then returning her to her Mommy:) I think it is such a precious gift when your sister has a baby......wow you don't think you can love a little person that much.

Look at that The Flesher's:) I still like saying it. I am so thankful for my husband and the way he loves me. He makes life so fun! He was such a big help to have around on Thanksgiving.....I know he is going to be a great help someday when it is my job to make Thanksgiving for the family.
